What Lurks Beneath
What is What Lurks Beneath?
What Lurks Beneath” is a game that was created in Game Project 2 while I was taking my programming course at Future Games. The essential elements of the game included multiplayer with a symbiosis design, and we had 4 weeks to deliver this PC Unity game. I was part of Group 7, which consisted of 17 members, and my role in the project was as a programmer.
Workflow
In this project, we followed the Scrum workflow structure. Each day, we had daily check-ins to monitor the progress of the group members and offer assistance if needed. Our primary platform for communication and collaboration was Discord, where we discussed and worked together on the project. All our project activities were posted on Discord for transparency and visibility to everyone involved. To manage tasks and track progress, we utilized Jira as a checklist, which helped us know who was working on what and facilitated informing the QA team when new features required testing. Additionally, we extensively used Miro as an online whiteboard for brainstorming and planning. Notably, the group members in this project were spread across different locations in Sweden and some even outside of Sweden, making the entire project a collaborative online effort.
My contributions
I was one of the programmers in this project, primarily tasked with creating a stone that the player could destroy. Once that task was completed, I also assisted with other scripts. Throughout the project, we adhered to a programming chart that guided our work as programmers. Additionally, I played a role in bug-fixing, problem-solving, and helping group members when they encountered issues while working on the project.
